Welcome to the official website of the project 2Fish!

2Fish is a project dedicated to training in the fisheries and aquaculture sector, approved and funded with support from the European Union. The project will run in the period from November 2011 to April 2014. Education and training provided by the vocational fishery schools primarily concerns teaching and training of fishermen. However, the fishery sector also includes a wide range of secondary service professions which are highly dependent on skilled and qualified workers for meeting the needs of the fishing industry. They are, among others, fish traders, auction hall employees, aqua-culture specialists, counselling and financial managers, net binders. Employees in service professions linked to fisheries compose a large group of people whose skills and knowledge of the fishery sector directly affect the quality of its products and services. As it is today, the offer of vocational education and training within the fishery sector in Europe is mainly concentrated on training related to becoming/being a fisherman. Service professions linked to fishery are generally constrained to use low-skilled workers or workers with an educational background from other professions. 2Fish offers education and training possibilities within the fishery sector that are non-existent today.
